Usmanbaş: Modernist

Usmanbaş: Modernist is an upcoming 40-minute documentary, based on the memories and experiences of İlhan Usmanbaş. It explores the journey of contemporary music in the 20th century, and will also feature commentary by musicologists, music researchers and composers.

Renowned as the most progressive composer of the modernist generation that followed the nationalist Turkish Five, Usmanbaş has based his work on the notion of “openness”.

Modernist: Usmanbaş,  İlhan Usmanbaş’ın anıları ve deneyimlerine dayanan, 40 dakikalık bir belgesel projesidir. 20. yüzyıl çağdaş müzik yolculuğunu keşfetmek için müzikolog, müzik araştırmacısı ve bestecilerin yorumlarına yer vermektedir.

Türk Beşleri’ni takip eden modernist neslin en yenilikçi bestecisi olarak tanınan Usmanbaş, çalışmalarını “açıklık” kavramı üzerine inşa etmiştir.
